These days I very rarely reblog photographs of women here. When I started on Tumblr I thought the fact that there were tons of tumblr sites of just pics of women in a number of different specific niches and themes was flat out cool and convenient.

But after a while I discovered that I got desensitized. I got tired of the numerous (and I really mean numerous) photos of girls in summer dresses in a field holding lomo cameras and classic bicycles, often with the photo cropped just under their nose, and I somehow got bored of the barrage of buttocks and pin-up girls and Dita Von Teese.

How the HELL does a man get bored of buttocks and pin-up girls and Dita Von Teese?! I’m serious, Dita Von Teese does nothing for me now. Nothing. I’m quite sure I’ve seen every photo ever taken of Dita Von Teese twice.

But every once in a while a photo or two pops up that reminds me that I’m following these sites for inspiration as opposed to titillation (I know you all - including my girlfriend - probably don’t believe me, but it’s true and my cats will back me up). Johnny McGeorge’s work is always a breath of fresh air, for example. And every once in a while a pin-up shot pops up that catches me by being just a little bit different from all the others.

This photo also caught me. I love the photography, the composition, the black and white, the model, the wardrobe and especially the cat.

Good Lord. I hope Tumblr doesn’t make me get bored of cats.
